The majority of our challenges have a heavy focus on engineering, with science, art, and technology support. The Physics Grade Level Challenges, though, spotlight science. I’ve had good responses from grade level teachers. We’ve worked with these challenges for every year, since the inception of STEAM as a specials class. And, every year I’ve tweaked the lessons, or completely overhauled a grade levels challenge — in an effort to get them to a “just right” condition. So, needless to say, here’s where we’re at with them!

You’ll also notice that I have Guest Teacher video lessons (videos that I use if I need to be out of the classroom — or happen to lose my voice, but am still able to be in the classroom).
Reflecting on the past few years we’ve done these challenges, I have a few ideas for future changes:
– make picture recipe card directions (laminated) for 5th
– have fifth wear safety glasses
– redo all recording sheets (more simplistic)
– rethink WHAT 2nd takes apart
– already have a set of old smartboard response system remotes
