I get many emails asking if visitors are allowed to use the things they see on my website.  Yes, yes, YES!  That’s why I put it up on the web!  😉  Did you know that anything you create is eligible to be licensed under a Creative Commons license?  Check out the links below to discover what this means.  All you need to decide is HOW YOU want to license your work!

What does this mean exactly? 

Here’s what you CAN do:

  • View, download, print, and use any materials on the site.
  • Adapt, change, modify, reconstruct, remix, etc any materials on the site for your personal use.
  • Share materials on the site as they are with anyone at your school or via email, website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Delicious, and other WEB 2.0/social networking sites.  When you do this, it is best to credit the original author (if someone asks you about it — I don’t require you to mark my name on the document and I rarely, RARELY mark up my documents with my name).
  • Share materials that you have adapted, changed, modified, reconstructed, remixed, etc with anyone at your school or via email, website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Delicious, and other WEB 2.0/social networking sites.  When you do this, it is best to credit the original author  (if someone asks you about it — I don’t require you to mark my name on the document and I rarely, RARELY mark up my documents with my name).
  • Share materials as is or that you have adapted in a professional development opportunity for teachers.  If you do use my materials (as is or adapted) in a PD opportunity for teachers, please let me know.  I like to keep track for my own personal PD portfolio.  Thanks!

Here’s what you CAN’T do:

  • Don’t use materials created by Jessica Meacham in a for-profit publication whether it be a downloadable document, podcast, book, presentation, or any other format created for the intent of earning money, without permission (you must contact Jessica Meacham if you wish to include something in a for-profit publication).
  • Don’t use materials created by Jessica Meacham featured on the site as is and refuse to share with colleagues.  In other words, Share & Share Alike! =]
  • Don’t alter, adapt, change, modify, reconstruct, remix, etc materials created by Jessica Meacham featured on the site and refuse to share with colleagues.  In other words, Share & Share Alike! =]
